Van 25 januari t/m 8 maart 2026 wordt de Wintersalon georganiseerd door Pictura Groningen aan de St.Walburgstraat 1. De expositie met werk van ongeveer 30 kunstenaars is te bezoeken op woensdag t/m zondag van 13.00 tot 17.00. Deze onderstaande twee werken van mij zijn geselecteerd en daar te zien. De expositie is met één week verlengd tot en met 15 maart.
Over the next few months (until May 3, 2026), my work “Tender Weight” will be on display at the MOW Museum in Bellingwolde as part of the exhibition “Loki, Lives and Loves of a Master Painter” (Lodewijk Karel Bruckman 1903-1995).
Along with a display of over 40 works from the MOW Museum’s permanent collection by the magical realist painter Bruckman, 14 interpretations of his work and world, created by 14 selected artists, will also be on display. I drew inspiration from his still life paintings, use of color, and subject matter, which often contain symbolism about life and death, growth and stagnation.
During the creative process, it became increasingly clear to me that there were many similarities between Bruckman’s still lifes and my own work and working method, which I hadn’t initially recognized. This was particularly evident in his use of everyday objects, his creation from nothing, and the surreal quality of his compositions. They have been an inspiration to me. I have taken to heart the motto “From what perishes, something new always arises.”
In my “painting,” I have also literally incorporated the past by working on an old tea towel, which I have had in my possession for a very long time and which eventually ended up in my studio as a paint cloth. Now, it has become the medium for my composition, mixed with new residual materials, such as the melted fruit nets. Brought together, the elements—such as the fruit-like shapes and the wooden frame, the feathers, and personal treasures (spoon and brush)—interpret the works of “Loki,” and it has also become a personal work with my signature.
This summer my work ‘Choose your words’ is selected for and part of the exhibition: Refresh Amsterdam #3: Imagine the future, to be seen in the Amsterdam Museum at the Amstel 51, Amsterdam until 30th november 2025
I was asked to think about a wish for the future to create or generate a more harmonious environment in which we all live and have to deal with eachothers behavior. My reaction to this question happened quite instinctively and I came up with this protest about using language more carefully.

Landscape of tolerance originated from the desire to create a spatial representation. In the research, shapes were created that remain abstract but want to be figurative. When is an object accepted as a representation? Shapes are enlarged, stacked and hung loosely in space. The painting on cardboard were created by chance out of left-overs. Organized in a patch work manner and directed into a abstract form. Newspapers are painted; some fragments dissapear, other receive attention. The paper is stacked with news which become part of the layering and can not be seen as neutral anymore. Newspapers are sewn together, the thread makes the construction visable. The stacked boxes balance but take up space and hold their ground. Have we entered the setting of a play, with players about to enter the stage?
For the project at the art centre Kel_30 in Haren, I worked on location at the exhibition space for more than 3 weeks at my art installation. The end result is now on display. The show is to be visited from 12.00 – 17.00 on saturday 31 may, sunday 1 June and saturday 7 June at ‘ Kel_30, part of the De Biotoop, Kerklaan 30 in Haren, Groningen.
The idea and challenge for me was to make a sculptural work in a experimental setting, which had to have the right size for the space provided. The starting point for me was to go from a 2 dimensional work into a 3 dimensional installation. Using my materials like cardboard and newspaper, wood and paint in the same collage-like way as I do in my normaly smaller sized works.
